It is about a 5th grader named August "Auggie" who has a facial difference and has been home-schooled for most of his young life. He gets enrolled at a middle school for 5th grade and wants nothing more than to feel normal. Instead Auggie gets bullied for his appearance from his peers and along the way you hear from not only Auggie, but from others who are around him begin to wonder what it means to have empathy and compassion. What it means to be a friend, how to accept your friend, but mostly how to be just "act a little kinder than necessary - the world would be a better place".
Desolee pour les fautes... it makes you feel so many different feelings and makes you never want to put down the book.
if you can i would for sure read the book and watch the movie.
If you want tears, frustration at stupidness, meanness, and just how can people be heartless, but at the same time think, "Yeah, I kind of do that sometimes, but I don't mean to!" (we are all human beings) or think what can I do when I am just one person. Read this book as it shows that although it is hard to be kind and you are just trying to survive in this world, this book shows that you don't have to try to hard when all you have to do is be kind (even just a little as it can go a long way), have empathy, be compassionate, and most of all have wonder at what you can and others can do when you are kind to each other.
It's as good as the book. Awesome cast.
Well written; I enjoyed the way the author provided a unique perspective for each of the major characters in this novel.
it's as wonderful as everyone says. My only quibble is that the sections from different characters have different information, but not that much in the way of distinct voices.
Amazing book to read. Heartwarming and has a strong message in it. Recommend it a lot
Awesome book, I definitely recommend it... teaches you a lot about inclusiveness.

A really great book for all young kids to read or have read to them. Kindness is such a strong force that we need more of in this world. I loved how the book puts the reader into the heads of different characters. I think it helps the reader to develop empathy and see the same situation through different lenses. A very good wholesome book.
