Finally watched this Jim Carrey flick after knowing about it for a while. Learning about Andy Kaufman and see this sort of "odd version" of a rockstar sort of film; except the "rockstar" was Andy Kaufman, who tried his best to elude all possible categories, not even really wanting to be considered a comedian and using many strange (but sometimes funny) approaches towards comedy or shock value.

I thought the ending and "moral" was very poignant, that no one (perhaps even himself) knew who he really was, or even if he was ever being serious. I'm glad such a depiction was shown to not glorify his odd behaviour, but show a very real repercussion of it. Him being stripped of being able to participate in his meditations with the group he was in was a powerful moment of that.

And, finally, he had no answer to suffering. He had no real comedy, or way around, his cancer diagnosis. It was so real, and perhaps now the joke was on him. Reality always has a way of catching up to us. It seemed he tried, and did in some ways, make some peace with the last parts of his career and handing out milk and cookies and all that, but even that was a bit odd.

God bless him for all his weirdness, his story is interesting. May he rest in peace.

Horrible reacting of this man's life. At times the film blanks out not sure if that is part of the "gimmick" of this film. Makes the viewer quiet upset with a non-flowing film let alone the story of this particular comedian.
Thumbs down to this angry film.

There really can't be enough praise for the late, great Milos Forman and the miracle he rendered here. A masterpiece, or close enough. Did you hear about this one?

I always thought Andy Kaufman was one of the greatest comics of my time. He was a true genius. Jim Carrey gives just an unbelievably fantastic rendition of Kaufman-such a great tribute! Superb.

My wife & I Thoroughly enjoyed this film. Jim Carrey Shines as he adapts into his extremely radical comedy and genius portrayal of real -life "outsider " comedian Andy Kaufman. A whirlwind of many familiar faces including Courtney love & Lorne Michaels..... oh yeah and his actual real life friend Jerry Lawler you know the wrestling guy. Well I will give this film 5 stars although it did pretty good at the theatre box office back in 1999, which was up against some really other great films like
The fight club
The Matrix
Being John Malkovich
and so on but, This is a real treat and a great picture from director Milos Forman>>>

Jai Dava Guru, Andy.
