Read the hard copy. Always enjoy this cozy domestic mystery series. I've been reading them for many years now. Lucy Stone and her family are engaging characters and they passage of time has only made the series better and the characters more fully developed.

I found the writing quite stilted and am surprised that this series has lasted so long. I also found that the detecting was more a process of elimination and the leap to the person that actually done it was a large one. I will likely not read any more in the series.

I totally agree with Wolfespearl! I've never read the original A Christmas Carol, but I did find that the poor financial situation in Tinker's Cove was a bit over emphasized to the point where it was really starting to bore me. The ending was good though. It was also a coincidence that it mentioned Geoff and Angie needing kidney transplants on the very day I was researching organ transplants for a project.

A retelling of the traditional tale, Meier strays sometimes a little too close to overdoing it, but in the end she exercises enough restraint to make this an enjoyable read.
