Brian Michael Bendis continues to prove why he is the most inept writer in the industry. In the second of two X-Men titles under his control, this first volume of his run has Cyclops and a handful of castouts in the wake of the Avengers vs X-Men event deciding to become revolutionaries just because... well, just because the writer says so. The total disregard by Bendis for continuity or characterization persists here, as the writer throws it all out the window and proves unable to get character voices right. Add to that the fact that Bachalo is on pencils, and that just makes this more of a mess.

I love Chris Bachalo's artwork and I think it would take an amazingly bad writer to put Bachalo's work to waste. I find that of all the X titles that Bendis is writing what I've read of this series so far makes it the best of the bunch.
