A powerful, riveting drama that easily pulls you into the life of the difficulties of living in the occupied West bank. Oh, and climbing the wall! It is not an preachy political film. It's a tense thriller with the oppression of the occupation behind every scene. Gripping and engaging and worth watching on many levels.

Rich, complex, absorbing, and unflinching. Omar is a movie that kept me on edge until the very last frame, wondering how the complex story line would play out. Whatever your views on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, this movie plunges you straight into a world full of love, friendship, and crushingly difficult choices.

I found this film both emotion-sapping and riveting, one that allows the viewer to gain insight into what it's like to live in the West Bank. As an aside: Trump would love the wall.

A surprisingly good film from the Palestine, about a young man living in the West Bank and his association with a freedom-fighter group. There is a love story there too - a love triangle marked by betrayal. Definitely worth a watch to gain a perspective, perhaps one-sided, into lives in the occupied territories. Subtitles.

A sad film about life in occupied Palestine, and the difficult moral choices that residents must make under the brutal Israeli system of terrorism and torture.

Very good movie. Keeps you thinking about the choices or lack of them with the same result at the end. The decision lies in your moral stand.

A very good movie. Worth watching.

I wanted to like the lovestruck Omar. But his choices and experiences are only consistent with a pro-Palestinian and anti-Israeli leitmotif. I am not a fan of propaganda from either side. The performances are lovely, though, so the movie was worth watching. But for me, I watched with an emotional disconnect.

Omar and his friends believe the unbelievable. They believe that if they kill an Israeli soldier that this will somehow advance the cause of the Palestinians. Once the soldier is killed, we get to see the harsh interrogation techniques and we get to see friend turning on friend. There is a sweet romance between Omar and Nadia, but once Omar becomes entrapped by the police, we get the feeling that this sweet romance will become tragic. The whole truth becomes evident only in the last frames.
