Busch's novel brings to life the culture and traditions of his people in a pre-colonial context. The story is engaging but I especially appreciated reading about how the traditions shaped the lives of the people. All Canadians should read this book (and others by First Nations and aboriginal authors) to help us move toward a culture based on equality and respect.
