Was a better movie than I expected taking the other reviews into account.
Watched it from beginning to end and it kept my interest. Special effects were
very well done.

Awful awful movie!!! If you're going to base a movie on an actual person, get the story right!! The only thing they used was his name. They depicted Moses as a warrior with a sword. The real Moses was meek with a staff and faith in God. Most ridiculous depiction I've ever seen. Couldn't even finish it. Don't waste your time. Even if you don't believe in the Bible/Moses it's a joke.

Very bad >>> I love Ridley Scott films but why he did this I will never know. Bad acting, poor script. terrible character developement and motivations. It was a flat, turgid bore of semi biblical proportions. UGH !!!!

If you have seen the Charleston Heston version, you will be disappointed. There's no resemblance to the bible story that was told. Its a story about an Atheist Moses. What is the point of the story if Moses didn't believe in God? This Moses is seen as a mental patient who talks to himself.

About as believable as the actual bible.

Any resemblance to the actual, Biblical account is completely coincidental. As a stickler for historical accuracy, this movie drove me batty... if the Moses character had been named Ben, I could have taken it as a simple story set in ancient times. If you are going to use the names of Biblical characters and twist the story so completely to make it unlike the historical count, then why use these names at all? Rant done.

I thought the movie maybe was a little white wash. Not very believable. but it was ok.

Way too long. New slant on plagues, pestilence. Interesting how the river ran red due to alligators. Parting of Red Sea interesting. Agree Charlton Heston the better Moses in Ten Commandments.

Spoiler Alert:
Wise Man trying to explain the calamities: The Nile, as we know, carries a certain amount of clay. This year there's much more of it than usual... drifting in on the currents, settling on the riverbeds...and kicked up by the wild thrashing of the crocodiles. This thrashing not only dramatically changed the color of the water, but it fouled it...to the point of killing the fish. But frogs, as we know...can get out of the water, when they have to. Which they did. But frogs still need water... and when they can't find it in the streets of our city...they die. And then they decompose. And then the gnats come and the maggots come and the flies come …

Newly wed:
Zipporah: Who makes you happy?
Moses: You do.
Zipporah: Who makes you happy?
Moses: You do.
Zipporah: What's the most important thing in your life?
Moses: You are.
Zipporah: Where would you rather be?
Moses: Nowhere.
Zipporah: And when will you leave me?
Moses: Never.
Zipporah: Proceed.
... Moses proceeded to loosen up ...
--You sleep well my boy... because you know that you're loved. I've never sleep that well.
