I've read some of her books. I find she has some great ideas and when my past relationships have gone awry, her insights to be helpful in grounding my own beliefs and sanity.

Ultimately no self help book is going to save anything - people do things for their own agendas and fulfill their own path and one must be prepared to walk theirs alone. I do feel you should be able to speak your mind and talk to your partner without fear of reprisal, if you bottle, hold your tongue for fear of causing trauma to the relationship then why the h*ll are you in it? being honest, truthful and open is the only way to go and if partner doesn't hear, listen and discuss with the same openness and understanding maybe its time to leave. That's my take - and is generally the theme of all of her anecdotes. Every relationship is a dance of winning, losing or compromising - in the healthiest ones I think if 80% is the latter, your're doing great. With all questions, the reader just has to find the answer within - the one they are most comfortable with.
