Toni Kozlovsky can't explain how she knows exactly what her sisters are feeling--only that the connection seems to happen out of the blue, just when they need it most. Since Toni, Valerie, and Ellie were little girls growing up in Communist Russia, their parents have insisted it's simply further proof that the Kozlovskys are special and different.

I just finished this book, and did not want it to end! I also just requested another of her books to read.

An interesting story line, a little different from others I've read, and yet very plausible. I related to many of the characters and their various issues, all were were believable, and some exquisitely developed- I loved the mother and her specials of the day.
I like Lamb's writing style and approach. She made me work just a little bit, backtracking and re-reading a section here and there to make sure I was following properly. It was enjoyable work. Just the right amount of normalcy and mystery, spiced up with humor.
It was refreshing to have a positive ending. I could use more happy endings!

Such a cute story. This is my 2nd Cathy Lamb book and I'm learning that she likes to mix serious subjects with quirky characters and humor. There are 4 subplots (one for each sibling) plus flashbacks to their struggles in Moscow before coming to the U.S. All of the characters, both primary and supporting were entertaining. Liked the idea of living on a tugboat close to nature with a bunch of quirky neighbor's. Liked the family's fierce love for each other. Mama's specials of the day were funny. The chapters kind of follow a formula that got a little repetitive. I think the book could have been just as good if it was a little shorter. Overall I enjoyed it very much.
