One night during a June heat wave, a car crashes into a tree in central Dublin and bursts into flames. The police assume the driver's death was either an accident or a suicide, but Quirke's examination of the body leads him to believe otherwise. In this enthralling book - the seventh novel featuring the endlessly fascinating Quirke - Benjamin Black has crafted a story of surpassing intensity and surprising beauty.

This was an excellent story but half way through the book was disturbing sexual content. I finished the book because I wanted to know the end, but I won't be reading anymore Benjamin Black books. Very disappointing.
