Quite a surprise this book , found it more interesting and humorous than thought it would be . Lots of twists and turns this kid has in order to get him to where he has to get to , the Yukon , plus Family Services are after him to put him in foster care . And he has only a week to get this claim registered or lose it . Chris Dearing has a drunk for a father , but Chris loves him dearly , a Mom who left him and a deceased Grandfather's gold mine claim that he founds out is famously known about . So there are those that want the claim for themselves . His friends that help him along the way are very different and colorful . Funny , humorous book and would recommend it if you want adventure in a book .
