Summary
Add a Summary"Help, I've fallen and I can't get up," is a fitting rallying call for DOROTHY AND THE WIZARD IN OZ. Children's literature's favorite snake oil salesman finds himself with Dorothy on a perilous, whimsical and all together absurd adventure beneath the Earth's surface. They'll have to be creative to get out of this one. Not Baum's best.

Add a CommentWhereas the WIZARD OF OZ was magical, this story's just weird. Dorothy, along with the Wizard, is sucked into the center of the Earth and together they embark on a perilous journey to get back to the surface. A Disneyesque JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH.
Baum has added another wonderful tale of the history of Oz. And this time, not only Dorothy returns, but so does the Wizard! With great skill, the author lets his loyal readers know what happened to Oz after he leaves the wonderful land.
Not only are we introduced to new characters, such as Zeb and Jim the cab-horse and Eureka the kitten, but many old friends from the past three books as well. Included are the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodsman, the Cowardly Lion, from Dorothy’s first adventure, as well as Tik-Tok the Machine Man, the Hungry Tiger, the Sawhorse, and of course, the beautiful young ruler of Oz and Dorothy’s close friend, Princess Ozma.
This book will delight readers everywhere with both new and old wonders as the lore and history of the fairyland is explored in more detail. Excellent book!
