CMLibrary_gjd_posted the best line from Raven (J Law:) and worth a repeat:
And by the way, the women are always saving the men around here. You might wanna think about changing the name to X-Women.

Raven : [to Charles] It's funny. I can't actually remember the last time you were the one risking something. And by the way, the women are always saving the men around here. You might wanna think about changing the name to X-Women.
Erik Lehnsherr : The world is on the brink!
Professor Charles Xavier : I'm sorry, I didn't stop this sooner...
Erik Lehnsherr : You're always sorry, Charles. And there's always a speech. But nobody cares!

Add a CommentEh - I could take it or leave it. I liked James McAvoy as Charles Xavier, though. Otherwise, the fight scenes were just okay. The ending was good, and that's about all I can say about it.
I quite liked this movie
My pthy comment timed out, so I'll summarize this as an unengaging action movie with too much posing and not enough sense to get in out of the rain. It felt like its entire existence was simply to back fill some missing plot in whatever MCU branch was lacking, maybe make some money doing it if enough X-Men fans showed up.
It seemed like they ran out of idea for the story. Not a good plot. Unlikable characters. Raven had left before the story ended. But it’s still not an awful movie.
Heads up ... Young children who are Jennifer Lawrence fans may break out in tears. As the title suggests, a Phoenix story.
Disappointing. Better than the Last Stand, but not by much. Action sequences are good, but Jessica Chastain was wasted as a character in this movie. I like the X-Men franchise and I'm hoping Disney will give it a shot in the arm.
I really like X-men but this one just didn't quite cut it. The performers were just not convincing enough. Really feels like watching a bunch of people putting on costumes. The only good performances were by Sophie Turner. She's one to watch for future movies.
Strays away from source material straight away. The issues of the X-Men that covered the Dark Phoenix sega had a really great story and character development. It may have been more interesting if they followed that somewhat.
Dull film. I kept waiting for it to become interesting and see where it was going with this new take on the story. It never sparked for me at all.
I’m surprised the bigger names, playing some of these character’s roles, went onboard with this project.
Okay - So during this movie I felt what most people have; confused, annoyed, and even more confused. What I've found in my searches is that due to the events in Xmen Apocalypse some timey-whimey (aka someone messed with the time lines) stuff occured. Which means that this Dark Pheonix/Jean(Gene?) as well as EVERYONE ELSE is not the same as those characters from the Xmen movies that started this off back in the early 2000's. I could be wrong..but that was what most sites are saying - honestly just google it if you care enough.
I myself really enjoy these newer Xmen movies, perhaps even more than the the original Hugh Jackman led ones. But I think this one missed the mark in a lot of places - especially since the director/producers are making a movie within a series thats within another series. Where's the pre-movie recap of current events when you need it, eh?
It was pretty decent. It had a lot of action and a huge all-star cast in it. The storyline was good but kind of hard to follow though.
