This novel was a page turner - it was super interesting to hear both sides of the story and let the suspense build!

This was a pretty good read. It had great character development. It also had a lot of characters, which makes it a bit difficult to keep track of them all.
The biggest negative I see in this book is Shay is so dumb. She really is naively stupid, so it makes it hard to read through her naïveté.

I really dislike the kind of set up these new thrillers are doing these days. First it’s the back and forth perspectives. This is getting old. With this book, they add on different characters perspective which I can handle for awhile. What got me to really impatient is the timeline of each character’s story jumps back and forth so it’s really hard to keep up. For example, one of the character’s flashback was 10 days then 20 chapters later, it’s a flashback of 2 months and in between there are 4 other characters that had flashbacks that ranges from years to months. Really?!? I was reading an ebook so it just sucks to not be able to flip back and forth to try to piece the timeline together. Also, how each character met each other jumps around too so it was a lost cause for me. What redeemed the book was the last part when things start to pick up and it really became a thriller/mystery.

This is the third thriller by Hendricks & Pekkanen that I've read and they have done it again! These women write great psychologically twisty stories that keep you interested and guessing to very close to the end. Their books are hard to put down, move at a great pace and make you think. Shay witnesses a suicide in the New York city subway and subsequently becomes enmeshed with the glamorous Moore sisters and their circle of friends. But there is something sinister lurking beneath this new "friendship".

Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen have written another great psychological thriller. You Are Not Alone ticks all the boxes: interesting characters, an original plot, a fast pace and an unpredictable ending. Shay Miller is a young New York woman whose life is at a crossroads: the man she loves is in love with someone else, she has a dead-end job, she needs to find a new home and she is lonely. Circumstances bring her to the attention of the Moore sisters, Cassandra and Jane, two refined and beautiful women who seem to have everything that is missing in Shay’s life. Their new friendship brings Shay into their circle and her life changes in all aspects. But all may not be as it seems. This has been a fascinating and satisfying read and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys being surprised and entertained by what they read. Thank you to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Another great girl power thriller from the Greer Hendricks duo. Picture yourself on a subway platform and a woman throws herself in front of the train. Your life is already subpar and now you are traumatized about even getting on the subway. If you can imagine that, then you can put yourself in Shay's shoes. If two glamorous women started including you in their social engagements, helped you find your own apartment, and more you would be very happy to enjoy the opportunities provided. There are strings attached though, and those other women are adept at pulling at loose threads. I found this got off to a bit of a slow start, but I found it more and more engaging as more layers were exposed. The data points at the beginning of each chapter were a wonderful way to really tune into Shay's persona.

Thank you to St. Martin's Press for a paperback ARC. I am going to pass it onto one of my GR friends, now so they can enjoy this new title as well.

I am trying to formulate in my head what to type. To try and give a review of this book without giving too many hints so that I don't take away the shock and awe experience to future readers of this book...

I will say that I loved the previous novel, An Anonymous Girl and was excited to read the latest from this author duo. These writing partners have a wonderful way of creating dark, twisty, deceptive mind games with readers. A way of telling a story while keeping the reader on high alert. I really did love whizzing through the chapters of this latest story.

Shay, a main character, is driven in life by numbers and statistics. Numbers never lie, they are black and white, pure and true. The fact that she has such OCD about numbers and stats to the point of constantly writing them down in her journal made a wonderful lead character in this mass chaos surrounding her.

The sisters, who are the antagonists, were a nasty, mean and clever duo. There was a mean girl aspect to them and the friends they kept close. So very clever, but so very devious. Their domineering characteristics clashing with Shay's naivety made for such a compelling read.

"You Are Not Alone" is due to be released here in the US on March 3, 2020. Pre-order this now to add to your list of spring thrillers!

I am so thankful to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for allowing me the eARC to read and give my honest review. It was a 4 star read for me!

Happy Reading!
