This is really not a movie for young children. It has a father abusing his son in an unacceptable way for canadian standards. Maybe this is ok for a different culture but not for our culture. You don't hit children, lock them in closets, etc. That would get your child taken away. Exploding something in someone's face is not funny either. Cheating to do better in school isn't funny. Hitting a teacher, also not funny. Not for children. The back says family fantasy for all ages. No. No, it really isn't.

Pichaku alien creature, check.

Poor father and shack, check.

There's certainly other cliches, but there's a heart-warming feeling to this story. But like any kid's movie...it always ends well. Happily ever after. Enjoy with the fam ya'll, this is not something to watch alone!
