From New York Times bestselling author J. Randy Taraborrelli comes the definitive biography of the most enduring icon in popular American culture.

When Marilyn Monroe became famous in the 1950s, the world was told that her mother was either dead or simply not a part of her life. However, that was not true. In fact, her mentally ill mother was very much present in Marilyn's world and the complex family dynamic that unfolded behind the scenes is a story that has never before been told...until now. In this groundbreaking book, Taraborrelli draws complex and sympathetic portraits of the women so influential in the actress' life, including her mother, her foster mother, and her legal guardian. He also reveals, for the first time, the shocking scope of Marilyn's own mental illness, the identity of Marilyn's father and the half-brother she never knew, and new information about her relationship with the Kennedy's-Bobby, Jack, and Pat Kennedy Lawford. Explosive, revelatory, and surprisingly moving, this is the final word on the life of one of the most fascinating and elusive icons of the 20th Century.

she had an unhappy childhood, lived in a foster family, sucked-off film executives: such was the life of a Hollywood actress. What sets her apart, is she became FAMOUS, the most of the most, and she was murdered for being a potential whistleblower on the DEEP STATE. i.e. she was silenced (Of course, the official version is that she was a suicide)./ 'twould have been a better book, entitled SECRET LIFE (AND DEATH) OF, for that story, remains to be told. Don't we all, deep within, long to know and be told, the truth???? Or, if you prefer, 'the TRUTH'; or, if you prefer, 'the Truth.' Didn't Zimmerman once write a song about a boxer named THE TRUTH? That is to say, "By the way, . . . . "

Ultimately a sad story, about a woman who was so insecure about herself , it finally got to be too much to maintain the image of Marilyn Monroe. One employee said of Monroe, It took her hours to get ready, then her whole demeanor changed, like she put on a whole new personality.

In this often unflattering "tell-all" biography, author, Randy Taraborrelli attempts to search under every single rock in order to expose as many hidden skeletons as possible lurking inside Marilyn Monroe's closet.

I found that a lot of what had been revealed by Taraborrelli in this particular biography to be deliberately unkind and, yes, decidedly condescending in nature, as well.

Marilyn Monroe is one of my all-time fave actresses from her generation of Hollywood stars and with this unwelcome book being written nearly 50 years after her tragic death, I think it's definitely time to let this over-scrutinized woman (and the unfortunate circumstances in her life) rest in peace.

Hello, darlings! - In this "Marilyn Monroe" biography American author, Randy Taraborrelli promises you some really juicy, never-before-told facts about said-actress's family situation, the identity of her father, and her relationship with the Kennedys.

Apparently, Taraborrelli had access to newly released documents about Monroe that were not scrutinized by other biographers, and he was also able to interview countless family members, friends, costars, and others for more information.

Personally, I found Taraborrelli's style to be sometimes over-the-top as he boldly dared to assume the feelings and motivations of his subjects.

This biography also includes a number of pages of previously unseen photographs, as well.
