I would have loved this movie so much if it didn't have those few irritating missteps—the fact that Jack and Rose (to put it politely) engaged in premarital sexual activity with each other, and how some other rather unbelievable moments occurred. It would have been such a scandal at the time for Rose to give up her virginity outside of marriage, and well brought up girls just didn't do that back then. They knew the consequences, and I hated how this film portrayed it as a normal thing for young adults of the time to do.
But, aside from the things I just mentioned, 'Titanic' was overall an incredibly impressive film with heartbreaking deaths and suspenseful action. I loved the story and even if it had its faults I recommend it to teenagers and up.

This movie was well done, James Camron always puts a lot of effort into his movies.

So, I am not interested in the love story of Titanic at all. Which means I will exclusively watch it on television from the midpoint on. I love the quiet heroism of those trying to help other or of those braving their imminent death. I'm here for the history parts and that's all.

"King of the. . .Ahhhh! An iceberg!!!!"
20 years ago (It's 20018 y'all.), a little movie called Titanic sailed into our hearts and into academy awards history by winning, like I don't know, 12 academy awards. I missed it in the theaters and had never seen it. . .until now. And, wow, it's long! The story is pretty ludicrous (I mean, aside from the iceberg part.) and the writing atrocious. The best parts are the still impressive sinking scene and Billy Zane as a truly evil rich guy. The rich are the worst! Leo and Kate would re-team years later for "Revolutionary Road." Cameron would take a long break form movie making until "Avatar." Billy Zane would never get the spin off he deserved. "L.A. Confidential" was the better picture of 1998.

Epic love story. A little long, but good.

a fairy tale, essentially, to the detriment, nearly, of the technical perfection of this extraordinarily compelling historical event ("The Ring of The Nibelungen" verily, crossed with any of Walt Disney's fairy tale fantasies, "Cinderella", for instance, with Jack Dawson, Leonardo diCaprio, here, as the poor, star-crossed destitute, incongruous, however desired, at the society ball, earnestly in search of his uncoordinated slipper) lavishes production values - cinematography, editing, acting, sets and costumes, etc - of such superior quality that this film deserves a place at the very pinnacle of masterful, even iconic, filmic works of our era

This is one of the worst movies I have seen. The love story is insipid. The special effects are lame. The iceberg looks like Styrofoam in a bathtub. It doesn't capture any sense of real danger of the reality of the situation. The acting is sub par and the direction is cumbersome. One of the most over rated pictures of all time.

The movie Titanic has a very touching and affecting plot line. It's re-created from a true story which makes it even more touching for the viewers while watching. A movie full of love, romance, the fighting of life and love, understandings... Jack and Rose fell deeply in love, but when a storm created a disaster and the ship was sinking, Jack put his life in danger and goes into the room sections to save his love Rose, but danger and death was against them, they got separated yet found each other again, the ship eventually sank, and they were in ice cold water. Jack sacrificed his life and let Rose stay on a floating wood, Rose being safe while watching Jack turn into ice and die... Rose eventually lives and her story lives on... a beautiful way to understand the history of Titanic and feel the power of true love.

Titanic was a very sad and depressing movie, with a great ending. I loved the Titanic and it is definitely one of my favourite movies. I've seen this movie twice, and both times it made me cry equally as much. This movie was so upbeat and interesting up until the ending. The ending was thrilling, exciting, and frightening to watch. As probably everyone knows, the Titanic is based off of the nonfiction story, when the real ship sank. The movie was close to three hours, but the time flies as you're watching. Every scene was filled with moments that you could not quite seem to keep your eyes off of. The ending, once again, made every hope you had for the ship, sink (haha). When Jack and his lover were struggling to get out of the sinking ship, you were on your toes the entire time. Finally, when every ounce of happiness was crushed, Jack died. That was the worst part for me (and I'm sure a lot of people) because Jack was such a good boy, that deserved to live. This movie is clearly a 5/5. I loved it.

Frightening or Intense Scenes: Lots and lots of death, frozen bodies, shooting, etc.

Sexual Content: Jack draws Rose nude in one scene; the camera does not completely show her, but it shows enough (practically waist down). Nude drawings are viewed several times. There is also a scene where Jack and Rose engage in copulation (only bare shoulders seen).

Rose: [thinking both of them will die soon] I love you, Jack.

Jack: Don't you do that, don't say your good-byes. Not yet, do you understand me?

Rose: I'm so cold.

Jack: Listen, Rose. You're gonna get out of here, you're gonna go on and you're gonna make lots of babies, and you're gonna watch them grow. You're gonna die an old... an old lady warm in her bed, not here, not this night. Not like this, do you understand me?

Rose: I can't feel my body.

Jack: Winning that ticket, Rose, was the best thing that ever happened to me... it brought me to you. And I'm thankful for that, Rose. I'm thankful. You must do me this honor. Promise me you'll survive. That you won't give up, no matter what happens, no matter how hopeless. Promise me now, Rose, and never let go of that promise.

Rose: I promise.

Jack: Never let go.

Rose: I'll never let go, Jack. I'll never let go. I promise.
