"At fifty, Pippa Lee (Wright) glows with female serenity. She is a devoted wife, mother and an adored friend and neighbour. But when here husband (Arkin) decides they should move to a retirement community and has an affair with someone much younger, Pippa finds her beatific persona unraveling in alarming ways. Witty, humorous and moving, The Private Lives of Pippa Lee presents the complex portrait of the many lives behind a single name."--Container.

I liked this movie but I found it odd that they cast Blake Lively to play the young Robin Wright but they used old Alan Arkin to play young Alan Arkin. So the age difference was just too much to be believable or acceptable.

I was hoping for more when I saw the cast of this film but the chemistry between characters basically didn't exist. The story line was mediocre and focused on how and when Pippa's life took a turn in the wrong direction and began leading her into a world where she didn't belong or want to be. It could have been done better if they had focused a little more on either one side of the story or the other. Putting all of the fragmented parts together did not make for a very good movie.

I thought with the cast the movie would be better. It was dull and boring and after 30 minutes i shut it off. !!!!!!!

This movie was jam-packed with accomplished actors, but it was the dumbest, most-insipid thing I have seen since I can't remember when. What a waste of time and talent.

The main reason to watch this wonderful film is for Robin Wright's incredibly powerful and intelligent performance. But director Rebecca Miller defies convention and avoids self-indulgence despite writing and directing a film based on her own novel. Pippa Lee (Wright) is married to an older man in the publishing biz who has suffered from a series of heart attacks. The couple move to an assisted living community where Pippa finds herself enduring a quiet nervous breakdown. Alan Arkin and Julianne Moore are wonderful, and great casting of Keanu Reaves and Winona Ryder serve the film wonderfully.

It seemed interesting enough for me to view it...unfortunately, it was not as inspiring, captivating, nor compelling as I had believed. It could have been made much better. With the infirmity and old people throughout a large portion of the film, it became almost depressing to a certain extent, boring, and dragged me until I began to choke.

I really enjoyed this movie. Didn't know much about it when I checked it out but I was rather surprised how much I enjoyed it. Would watch again in the future.
