This is number four in the Jonathan Stride series. I have read the second, set in Las Vegas, and this, which I found much more entertaining and exciting. A former friend of Jon's late wife comes back to try to solve the murder of Jon's late sister-in-law, killed when Jon was a teenager--a murder which inspired Jon to become a police officer. Will he be so drawn into the past that he loses his new love? Will the peeper haunting the city today tie in to this decades old murder? The main murder certainly lives up to the start of a good series.

This was a re-read for me. I thought it wasn't nearly as good as the previous 3 books in the series with Stride/Bei/and Dial. It was interesting but the book's rhythm seemed to stall at times and it was hard for it to get going again

I really enjoyed this book. I have just discovered this author upon reading Stalked. I found this book moved more quickly than the previous one. The plot takes quite a few turns and I had no idea who the guilty party was so that is always a bonus!

This Minnesota author is excellent. I can relate to the areas in Duluth because I am from there.

This book is also called The Watcher (depending on whether or not it's the US or UK edition).

A peeping Tom is the subject that the story keeps coming back to. Stride is asked to look into an unsolved murder from his youth of his future wife's sister. He and she were tangentially involved at the time.
