This tries to have the magic of Moonlighting (with Bruce Willis), but it misses the mark by a mile. It would have been much better if the pilot had been made movie length.

This is just a start of a new series and it's not supposed to be the best. ._. They get new ideas every time they make a new episode so, I think it was pretty awesome! :D
My honest opinion is that since it was just a start to a new series, it was not their fault that it wasn't the best. All I need to say is that it was wonderful! ^.^

Maybe this show gets better but the first season is disappointing. There dialogue is rarely witty and the characters are two dimensional. The main character is Castle, fine, but do all the women characters have to totally revolve around him? We've got the dutiful and studious daughter, the wacky but doting mother, and the tough but virginal sidekick. Even the other male characters are totally flat, I guess so they don't take the spotlight away from the *fabulous* Castle. Bones is a better show for witty dialogue and multi-layered characters.

Rick Castle, a crime story novelist, and NYPD Detective Kate Beckette work together to solve homicides. Rick recently finished his latest novel and is looking for fresh ideas given his writer's block. Working as a NYPD homicide consultant Rick also decides to write a new novel using Detective Beckette as a template for the lead character. There is an air of humor and sexual tension between the two as they work with other members of the homicide squad to solve murders.

I love this series! It is a lot of fun to watch and has some great characters in it. The Bloopers in this season were also a lot of fun to watch.

If you like "the Mentalist","Bones" or "Moonlighting", "CSI" Psych or Monk you'll like this show. I don't think it's a strong as any of the aforementioned..but it's still fun way to past an hour with goodlooking cast and lot's of sexual- tension, mystery- murder -solving & unique for these types of shows includes a cute family storyline with Castle, his daughter and Mother

“There are two kinds of people who sit around all day thinking about killing people...mystery writers and serial killers. I'm the kind that pays better.”
