66 year old Eva up and leaves her husband after many years of marriage. With nothing but a small pension cheque, she rents a room in a boarding house in a seedy section of Montreal. There she discovers freedom for the first time in her life. An easy read, and very enjoyable. Good writing and characters. This book was made into a movie, which has been highly recommended. The verdict--my bookclub folks loved it and it's been suggested for an OPL bookclub suggestion for the future.
