Inspiring without being insipid, sad without being hopeless. Beginning of the film is a graphic depiction of civil war including murdering children and a near-starvation trek . How the Lost Boys and Girls adjust to America is frequently funny, with a fresh look at American culture seen from new eyes (pizza is considered a godsend), throwing away expired food is incomprehensible. 9/11 creates a poignant twist for two brothers newly reunited.
