A gripping film; better than I expected. Intelligent dialogue, often clever and witty, though sometimes too preachy and confusing.
Masterfully directed by Costa-Gavras, who also co-wrote the screenplay. And whose leftist leanings are obvious but not offputting.
Gad Elmaleh is a surprise, he is outstanding as Tourneuil, whose character is morally conflicted. Gabriel Byrne (so good in "Secret State") is just mostly blustery here.
Best line: "I didn't know it was such fun to spout crap."
For other good films in this genre, see "Arbritrage" and especially "Margin Call."
P.S. The story is based on a book by Stephane Osmont, not Stephanie as it says on the DVD.
