Right from day one - Ansel Adams' b&w images had become admired icons of the rugged North American West. But - I'll certainly bet you that not many people are at all familiar with his impressive photographic work in colour. Born in San Francisco, California (1902) - Ansel Adams was, without question, the most honoured American photographer of the 20th century. He was also a very concerned and out-spoken environmentalist, as well. Beginning back in the mid-1920s - Adams' career in photography had steadily endured for 50 years. He had a very keen eye for his subject and his camera technique was as unique as one's fingerprints. These colour images are, indeed, a striking view to behold. *Note* - In 1984 - Ansel Adams (82 at the time) died of cardiovascular disease.
