In this book, a mom says, even if her child were to change into something else for the day, she would know her anywhere. With each animal the child might be, she describes one of her child's wonderful traits. This book is a unique story about a mother's love. It would be a wonderful read-a-loud and a way for parents to discuss with their children all of the things that are wonderful about them. The story is written in a way, that it can be used by adults other than parents: aunts, foster parent, etc. The words "you are my child, I am your parent" do not appear. On the last page it says, "child of mine" which is a little ambiguous. The illustrations are a unique use of layering. They are colorful and interesting and adorable.
