this is FIRST in author's series of 3 books, each with Gemma Monroe, detective, working in a small Colorado mountain town. Gemma has many talents in her discoveries. The author does a fine job of describing how Gemma processes her own questions and experiences while trying to solve the murder. Enjoyable reading; like-able main characters; good writing; the mountain setting of a small town provides natural descriptions which are a refreshing change from "a big city" environment. Gemma's relationships with her co-workers, other detectives, adds some charming-like dimension, as does her relationship with her family. I recommend this book, followed then by A Season to Lie, also held by the spplibrary.
