Stalenhag's third book -- this time set in California -- and even weirder than the first two (which were set in his native Sweden). The story seems simple: people have been possessed by permanent VR helmets called neurocasters, and civilization has been arrested, if not broken by a giant, all-pervasive tech corporation. Not a pleasant tale, especially when placed in such recognizable locales. Still, the drawings are fantastic, both as pure art and for the the artist's bizarre imagination. Obviously, do not read this just before going to sleep.
